LECHUZA-PON provides continuous capillary action right up to the surface of the substrate. Underplanting and shallow-rooted plants are therefore optimally supplied with water.
The LECHUZA plant substrate ensures even distribution of nutrients throughout the root zone in the planters. This optimal supply promotes uniform, compact root growth and robust plants that you can enjoy for a long time.
LECHUZA-PON acts as a buffer that absorbs excess fertilizer and releases it back to the plant when needed. This natural nutrient storage helps prevent root burn caused by over-fertilization.
The bulk density of LECHUZA-PON is carefully balanced. Your plant finds a firm hold in the planter, which is especially important for larger plants. LECHUZA-PON also ensures that your LECHUZA planter remains very stable and is ideal for outdoor use.
The granulate naturally binds odors, for example from dead root parts.
Heavy metals and pollutants (such as those that may be present in irrigation water) are permanently bound.
The purely mineral plant substrate inhibits root-damaging fungi. PON is therefore suitable for allergy sufferers. It does not provide a breeding ground for pests (such as fungus gnats), as these only nest in soil.
PON can be poured and easily handled with a scoop for clean filling of planters.
When planting with LECHUZA-PON, you do NOT need to completely remove the soil from the plant’s root ball.
