The advantages of LECHUZA-PON
LECHUZA-PON is suitable for all plants (including orchids and citrus). It is made from high-quality, mineral stones free from impurities.
LECHUZA-PON provides an optimal air-water ratio for plants (45% water – 55% air), reducing susceptibility to disease. The structurally stable plant substrate does not compact over the years and keeps its air-permeable structure, so it does not need to be replaced frequently.
Multiple quality checks during production minimise fine particles in the stones. This helps prevent clogging in the root area and maintains consistent capillary action.
The zeolite it contains helps stabilise the optimal pH value in LECHUZA planters, supporting healthy plant growth. Macro- and micronutrients remain continuously available to the plant.
LECHUZA-PON maintains continuous capillarity right up to the surface. This ensures underplanted and shallow-rooted plants are reliably supplied with water.
The LECHUZA plant substrate supports even nutrient distribution in the root zone of the planter. This promotes uniform, compact root growth and robust plants.
LECHUZA-PON acts as a buffer, absorbing excess fertiliser and releasing it back to the plant when needed. This natural nutrient storage helps protect roots from fertiliser burn caused by over-fertilisation.
The bulk density of LECHUZA-PON is optimised so that plants stand firmly in the planter, which is especially important for larger plants. It also improves overall planter stability and is suitable for outdoor use.
The granulate naturally binds odours, for example from dead root parts.
Heavy metals and pollutants (e.g. from irrigation water) are permanently bound in the substrate.
The purely mineral plant substrate helps inhibit root-damaging fungi. PON is therefore suitable for allergy sufferers. It does not provide a breeding ground for pests such as fungus gnats, which nest only in soil.
PON can be poured and easily handled with a scoop to fill planters cleanly.
When planting with LECHUZA-PON, you do NOT need to completely remove the soil from the plant’s root ball.
